Gina has worked in various roles in the child welfare system for the past ten years as a foster parent, visitation supervisor and a CASA. These experiences have provided her with unique insights into the child welfare system, allowing her to approach her work with care and understanding for all involved parties.
Gina is a certified counselor subcontracted with Grassroots Therapy. Gina is trained in Triple P and also offers Family Preservation Services (FPS) to families, including post adoption families. Gina shares a deep understanding of the unique dynamics and challenges of post-adoption families as her and her husbands personal journey as a foster and adoptive family has given her firsthand experience in parenting her five children that have variety of unique challenges including anxiety, autism, ADHD, developmental trauma and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Gina brings a deep well of empathy, compassion and understanding to her work with parents.
Dedicated to ongoing professional development and acquiring new skills, Gina is currently undergoing training to become a certified parent coach with Connected Families. This organization equips her with additional skills to guide and empower parents, enhancing the lives of families under her care. Gina is pursuing further certifications in Circle of Security, and the Safe and Sound Protocol.
Gina's therapeutic approach is rooted in a strengths-based, collaborative mindset. She values and strives to respect each person's point of view, belief systems, values, and culture. By creating a safe and inclusive space, Gina fosters an environment where parents can openly share their concerns and work towards positive solutions.
