Emily is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Perinatal Mental Health Specialist and Certified Attachment Focused Therapist with over a decade of experience serving children and families. Emily's areas of specialty practice include perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, birth trauma, NICU experiences, medically fragile and complex infants, infant mental health, attachment and bonding, parent education, and life transition to parenthood. She has extensive experience working with children with feeding and medical needs and attachment work with parents of children with medical complexities and families involved in the child welfare system.
Emily obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Whitworth University and a Master of Social Work from Eastern Washington University. She has done extensive post graduate work in the areas of birth trauma, perinatal/postpartum challanges, attachment, grief, child abuse/neglect and infant mental health. Emily is trained in EMDR and Brainspotting and is also a Registered Circle of Security Parent Educator and Certified Promoting First Relationships provider. She is a member of Postpartum Support International and Perinatal Support Washington. Emily is an adjunct faculty member at Whitworth University and provides education to undergraduate students on the topics of abnormal psychology.
